OUR PASTOR
Rev. Ricky G. Burnett began walking his path in the ministry right here at Cape Fear Baptist Church where he was ordained in 1985.
Since then he has been a devoted follower of Christ, committed to spreading His word to all who would hear it. He has served as pastor at several churches across the great state of North Carolina including; Elizabeth Heights and Pleasant View Baptist Church in Robeson County.
Rev. Burnett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in the study of Psychology - an achievement which he is incredibly proud of accomplishing earlier in life. He also dedicated himself to our country, having served in the U.S. Navy for over 24 years.
To this day Rev. Burnett remains incredibly active with the Burnt Swamp Baptist Association where he has served as moderator for the last 4 years, assisting the Director of Missions. He has dedicated his life to lifting up the word of God and is faithfully supported in his efforts by his beautiful wife Paula Kay, their son Caleb Burnett.
In December of 2022 Rev. Burnett began a new chapter in his mission by becoming the pastor at Cape Fear Baptist Church where he first found his footing, some 38 years ago and we are so very happy to welcome him back home.

OUR CHURCH
Cape Fear Baptist Church is a multi-ethnic, Southern Baptist Convention congregation, primarily Native American, located in eastern Fayetteville, NC on Indian Drive. Affiliated with Burnt Swamp Baptist Association, members are conservative in their biblical beliefs, inclusive in their love for humanity, and dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature around the world through domestic and world missions.
Sunday worship services honor the heavenly Father with a mixture of traditional hymns and southern gospel / contemporary music with emphasis upon preparing all ages for a personal message from God. A variety of training programs and age-appropriate activities target the needs of families to evangelize and nurture each member to righteous living. A Family Life Center serves to enhance fellowship and Christian focused activities for members and outreach ministries.
Visitors discover a lively spirit and welcoming gentleness once they step inside this church. It is a place where God's amazing grace and sweet spirit can be felt and expressed freely. You are welcome here.
